Eliza Framework x Metaplex: the future of Agentic Assets

February 11th, 2025

Metaplex Foundation is happy to announce its collaboration with AIPool & the Eliza Agent Framework to kick off the future of the onchain economy and Agentic Assets.

As part of this effort, Metaplex has developed the new Execute feature for Metaplex Core, the most programmable and cost-effective NFT standard on Solana. This feature gives signer capabilities to assets, marking a significant step toward Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), as it empowers Agentic Assets, represented as NFTs, to autonomously own and manage resources on behalf of their owners.

The first product to leverage this new feature is AI-Pool, created by Skely, which is set to launch today, February 11, 2025. AI-Pool is designed to solve key challenges in token launches, such as securing custody of funds and creating a deeper liquidity pool through a more “slow” and gamified approach.

The AI-Pool approach to solving token launches is to structure the sale and launch process into three distinct phases, all managed by an AI Agent running in a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) ensuring that every phase is executed in a completely trustless and secure manner.

The first phase involves a 24-hour auction where participants bid for the rights to fees generated by the locked liquidity from the launch, as well as the opportunity to propose a name and URI to the AI managing the token launch.

Once a winner is declared, the AI’s Twitter account announces the result and tags either the winning bidder or their designated representative, inviting them to submit their proposed token name and corresponding image, similar to Clanker‘s approach in the EVM ecosystem.

Following the auction, the presale begins, allowing participants to purchase tokens by sending SOL to the agent’s designated address or by interacting with the specified application frontend.

As soon as the presale period ends, the AI-Agent will create the liquidity pool, lock the liquidity, and generate an NFT that administers ownership rights and can claim the fees generated by the Meteora liquidity pool. It will then distribute the tokens fairly based on the presale criteria, ensuring a fully transparent, traceable and autonomous process.

Only possible with Execute

The possibilities for the new Execute feature of Metaplex Core are endless; in this case, it powers a new use case for digital assets: NFT-Fi.

Beyond being visible in a wallet or serving as a familiar consumer vehicle, NFTs can now represent direct ownership of various assets, such as liquidity in a Liquidity Pool. This goes beyond the basic representation of liquidity that can be traded based on its market value. The composable nature of these NFTs unlocks additional utility, enabling “secondary” effects and new gamification opportunities.

For example, these NFTs could enable token-gated access to exclusive interactions, such as engaging with the AI-Pool team or connecting with past auction winners. More importantly, this model unlocks new functionalities, such as a SAFT mechanism, where buyers contributing liquidity to win an auction receive a proportional share of the revenue generated from the LP. It can also serve as a crowdfunding or reward system, redistributing fees to the top 10 holders of a specific token or even funding public goods initiatives.

Additionally, this approach provides an innovative way to “revive” abandoned projects. In many cases, liquidity becomes trapped when a founder steps away, with no viable way to transfer ownership. This setup simplifies the process, allowing stakeholders to effectively sell their stake in a token to someone else who can push the project forward.

A Step Toward AGI on Solana

Beyond this specific use case, Metaplex's NFT signer innovation will drive the Agentic Renaissance  by enabling NFTs to function as autonomous agents, laying the groundwork for decentralized systems that seamlessly integrate AI and blockchain technology.
