Protocol Activity

In July, Metaplex generated $253K in protocol revenue, up 25% from June and the highest month since March, including $141K from Token Metadata (56%), $107K from Core (43%), and $4K from Genesis and Other (2%). July marked the third consecutive month of growth across protocol revenue, asset creation, and unique signers.

In July, 182K Token Metadata assets were created, up 10% MoM, including 160K fungible tokens (88%).

New Core mints reached 918K, up 39% from June and marking Core’s biggest month ever, its second consecutive all-time record. Total Core assets created have now surpassed 8 million.

In July, approximately 160K unique wallets signed transactions with Metaplex, up from 136K in June (+18% MoM) and the highest level since March. Lifetime, more than 14 million unique wallets have now signed a Metaplex transaction.

Metaplex Platform

Core's Biggest Month Ever, Again

Core followed June's record with an even bigger July: 918K new assets minted, up 39% from the previous all-time high set just one month earlier. This record month was led by Candy Digital's migration of licensed collectibles, bringing some of the world's biggest IP, including MLB and WWE to Solana. Collector Crypt continued to tokenize graded cards and Beezie went live on Solana with a claw-machine featuring collectibles that users can own, trade, and redeem, all minted with Metaplex Core.

Core's continued adoption as the most powerful asset standard on Solana drove $107k in protocol revenue and 43% share of total protocol revenue, its highest month ever on both measures.

Agent Registry Integrations

The 014 Agent Registry continued to see adoption as the standard for tokenized agents. Voight Agents came to the registry bringing observable AI agents onchain with real-time monitoring on Solana - the follow-through on the integration announced in June. Hatcher shipped a two-click registration flow that gives any Hatcher agent an onchain identity with Metaplex and the ability to launch an official Metaplex agent token in under a minute.

Both integrations reinforce the same pattern established in the spring: platforms plug into the registry for identity, then inherit the rest of the stack - wallets, discoverability through DAS, profiles, and the agent token launch path.

RWAs and Tokenized Securities R&D

Metaplex Foundation continued to advance the development of new infrastructure for the issuing and managing of RWAs with native compliance functionality enforced onchain. These programs are currently live on devnet.

Metaplex DAO

Metaplex Protocol Revenue & $MPLX Buybacks

July's buybacks reached 3.8M $MPLX as $101k of June's protocol revenue went towards buybacks for the DAO (0.4% of the total supply / 0.8% of outstanding supply). Each month, 50% of prior month's protocol revenue is allocated to $MPLX buybacks for the DAO.

July protocol fees reached $253K USD (3,249 SOL), 50% of which will be used to buy back $MPLX for the DAO in August.

As of August 18th, the Metaplex DAO directly holds 305M $MPLX (30.5% of total supply) and has deployed an additional 32mm tokens (3.2% of total supply) as protocol owned liquidity (POL).

Metaplex Foundation

Metaplex Foundation $MPLX Purchases and Holdings

In July, Metaplex Foundation purchased 42.3M $MPLX for its treasury, representing 4.2% of the total supply or 8.7% of the outstanding supply. The purchase was made directly from a large holder and represented their entire remaining position.

As of August 18th, Metaplex Foundation holds 209M $MPLX (20.9% of total supply) in treasury wallets, with an additional 15mm tokens (1.5% of total supply) deployed in passive Kamino LP positions.

Partnership and Community Highlights

$MPLX Live on Upbit and Bithumb

Following June's listing announcements, $MPLX trading went live on Upbit (BTC, USDT) and Bithumb (KRW) in the first days of July, opening the token to the communities of South Korea's two largest exchanges. Korea remains a high-conviction strategic market following the Metaplex Korea Summit, CIS 2026, and the community push that preceded the listings, with the next major activation coming at Korea Blockchain Week.

$MPLX Featured in Binance Alpha Box

On July 14th, $MPLX was also added to the Binance Alpha Box, bringing the token that powers tokenization on Solana to Binance users. The campaign resulted in $MPLX receiving an alpha point boost on their platform along with an airdrop for Binance users.

$HEEBOO: Claynosaurz Fan Participation, Powered By Metaplex

On July 8th, Claynosaurz announced $HEEBOO, the economic layer of fan participation for its HEEBOO studio platform where creators reward the fans who back them, and fans earn by supporting the creators they believe in. The token is powered by Metaplex and will launch through a Genesis Launch Pool with a 48-hour deposit window, 5% of supply offered, zero deposit and withdrawal fees, and one community-discovered price.

Claim wallet registration opened on July 30th for all Claynosaurz character NFT holders ahead of the launch, which is set for August 25th. One of the most recognizable consumer IP studios on Solana choosing a Genesis Launch Pool for its token debut is exactly the fair-launch use case the mechanic was built for.

Candy Digital Migration At Scale

Candy Digital's migration to Metaplex Core moved from kickoff to full execution in July, with licensed collectibles from MLB, WWE, and other major IP arriving in batches and driving weekly all-time highs in Core minting. Candy Digital and Metaplex also co-hosted an X Space to walk the community through the migration and what it unlocks. The surrounding market noticed: digital Pokemon cards, MLB cards, and other collectibles powered by Metaplex standards were credited with driving the resurgence in Solana NFT volumes.

Thailand: Metaplex BKK

Metaplex's global expansion made its next stop in Thailand. Bitkub, Thailand's leading digital asset exchange, co-hosted the Metaplex BKK meetup in Bangkok on July 24th, bringing together local builders and creators. Earlier in the month, Metaplex delivered the first official workshop for the newly appointed Superteam Thailand at Based Studio in Bangkok, onboarding the next wave of Thai builders to NFTs, digital assets, and AI on Metaplex.

Collector Crypt, Beezie, And Tokenized Collectibles

Collector Crypt extended their run in July, by tokenizing graded trading cards as Core assets and powering pack-ripping experiences across Solana. Beezie followed its teaser by going live with their claw-machine on Solana where users own and trade collectibles onchain and redeem the physical item whenever they want, with every asset minted through Metaplex Core. The through-line matches June's message: Core is becoming the asset standard behind physical-collectible behavior on Solana, from cards and packs to claws and gachas.

Community And Capital Formation

Head of BD & Partnerships Clay Helms joined Superteam's weekly Office Hours on July 29th to talk capital formation on Solana with builders across the global Superteam network, extending the reach of the Metaplex launch stack to the ecosystem's most active builder community.

Ecosystem
